New Book on the Way!!!!!

My sister Carol is working feverishly on the graphics for,"Do Puppies go to Heaven?" I am really proud of our first accomplishment but this one will be even better. When I wrote the text for these two books I never dreamed Carol would be able to breathe such life into each stanza! This book touches us both on many levels, but when I view a completed page, my most keenly felt emotion is that of deep appreciation and love for my "seester". XO

Clean Dog Green Dog!!!

card Parker's Natural Petcare

Can we clean our pets efficiently without chemicals? Yup! Can we find an effective flea shampoo that’s not laden with pesticides? Yup again! Is there a difference between ‘natural’ products and ‘all natural’ products? Absolutely.

It comes down to reading the labels----- The WHOLE label. Often we flip the bottle over, read a few things like oatmeal or lavender or tea tree and think, “Oh, that’s great,” grab it and go. We miss the chemical stabilizers, thickeners, colours, etc. that follow the first few natural ingredients.

I guess my feeling is this; if you want to go natural, go green, why wouldn’t you go “all natural”? Breakaway ad

I’m going to tell you about my own line,Parker’s Natural Petcare products for this reason; we are all natural,we use premium plant-based ingredients, result specific combinations and recipe simplicity.

My partner, Lisa Burke,(the potion maker!) and I decided that recipe simplicity was the key to the effectiveness of our line. We decided that less is more, as in nature, and chose the three best herbs or oils to do the job we required. Our line is hand made, bottled, labelled and packaged by us, with the intent to step away from mass produced products, and back to basics, injected with love and pride.

Truth to tell folks, I’m a convert,as you read about in my last article and the message is simple and clear. We can look after our animals well and be green at the same time.

Back to basics.

Back to nature. She doesn’t get it wrong, we do!

Keep those tails waggin’!!

You Have Choices

Is there anything that makes us feel inadequate more quickly than a sick pooch?

They peer at you with those big, soft eyes and the “ I can’t feel good” look! Panic sets

in and the questions come fast and furiously. What did he get into? Should I call the vet now or wait? Does he have a temperature? What do his poops look like?---The list goes on!

We’ve all been there. I’ve experienced this pattern countless times in the thirty years of

canine companionship, but when I rescued my last friend, (a little bullie named Fergus), this

familiar pattern changed. Conventional medicine was failing him and he was actually in a

healing crisis. I had searched my vast library of holistic books, recognized a myriad of symptoms, and was feeling desperate!

With my hands gently stroking him, he sent me a message; as they often do, if we would only listen. “Relax Kim, you know what to do.” Somewhere fergusbetween the last stroke, a tear dripping off my chin, and a deep sigh of resolution, the light went on! I called a natural health care practitioner and Fergus and I embarked on a very new learning curve(for me) and healing journey(for him).

Why am I telling you this story? I believe that when we are ready and open we can learn amazing, empowering, and ironically, very basic things. If we are brave enough to trust ourselves and our pets to heal as nature intended, we can improve and enhance, both our lives in the process. I believe we need to ask ourselves and our vets to try a proven, much gentler way; one that addresses root causes and not just symptoms. We need to require our trusted vets to work with us holistically and step away from the “quick fix” mentality, to the gradual, gentle, cleansing process. We have choices!

It’s no mistake that we’re drawn to our animal companions. They have much to teach us. Let’s decide to take the time to listen and learn.

May your eyes be clear

Your noses moist

Your kisses sloppy

And your tails waggin’!!!!!
